A Sacramento woman is recovering from her injuries after fighting off a would-be rapist. The woman was jogging early Thursday morning near Land Park when she says a man got out of a car and approached her.
The woman told police she saw the would-be assailant carrying a shiny object and begin to move toward her. A short fight followed during which the attacker slashed the woman's arm.
The woman says she pulled out a canister of Mace and sprayed the man in the face. He ran away and remains at large.
A bystander spotted the injured woman and took her to a nearby hospital for assistance.
