CHP officers thought they were pulling over a suspected drunk driver early Tuesday morning. Instead they say they found a mobile methamphetamine lab.
Officer Joe Marsac tells News 10 he and his partner spotted the Chevy Blazer driving erratically on Interstate 80 at about 1:40 in the morning. The officers pulled the truck over near Norwood. That's when one of the officers says he discovered a small amount of methamphetamine in the driver's shirt pocket.
As officers were placing the driver under arrest, they say they looked into the back of the truck. There, they say, they found supplies for making a large batch of the drug. Among the alleged discoveries were ice to keep the reaction cool and videotapes for the driver to watch during the 16 hour operation.
The driver was arrested and faces felony charges.
