When Governor Gray Davis visited three Sacramento synagogues to see the damage caused by arsonists, he called for a northern California center to fight hate. Now the Governor must decide if the state will pay to build the California Unity Center.
State lawmakers late last week approved funding the center which is designed to teach young people about other faiths, religions, and ethnic groups. It would also be a place to celebrate diversity and tolerance.
The Governor must make his decision on the Unity Center by October 10.
