xx Asian Gangs

Asian gangs often fight each other. They fight to control illegal gambling or drugs. People often get hurt in their fights.

Asian gangs are in some of the Asian communities. They hurt members of the community. Those people do not like to complain to the police.

It is hard for the police to find out what is going on. They do not understand Asian language and culture. The gang leaders are smart. The gangs move around a lot.

The police had a meeting about crime and violence in the Asian community. They shared ideas about the gangs. They talked about using computers to keep track of gang members. They talked about using federal laws against them in court. They talked about giving scholarships to young men to keep them out of gangs.

One teacher has worked hard to keep young Asian men out of gangs. She has sent them to school. She has gotten them jobs. She says that it costs more to keep one person in jail for a year than to send him to college.
