Lots of students go to college in California. Some of these students moved to California from other states. These students have to pay more money attend school.
Other students that go to school in California came from other countries. Some of these students are illegal immigrants. These students pay less money to go to college in California than the students that moved from other states.
The out-of-state students have to pay between $10,000 to $20,000 a year more than the illegal immigrants. They are not happy about this. They do not think that it is fair that they pay more money to go to school. They are suing the state of California to try to change this.
One student that is paying the higher out-of-state fees said that he thinks that it is not fair that he has to pay so much more money. He wants the laws to change.
Another student that is an illegal immigrant said that he could not afford to go to school if he had to pay more money. He does not want the laws to change.
Out-of-state students are suing the state of California to try to get the laws changed. They want the cost of going to college to be fair for everyone. They think that changing the laws would make this happen.
